Today I shall be reviewing the Divergent Series written by Veronica Roth. I was recommended this book by a friend and it was truly a story that will stay with me forever.Divergent is a dystopian young-adult series centred around Beatrice Prior. Beatrice lives in a world that is cast into five different factions, dedicated to five different virtues. Abnegation (the selfless) Candor (the honest) Erudite (the intelligent) Amity (the peaceful) and Dauntless (the brave).
On one day of every year, each 16 year old makes a decision to either stay with their family or leave and join a new faction. This decision affects Beatrice's life greatly as she makes a decision that surprises everyone including herself.
She then changes her name and lives a new life, with new initiates and friends. They must complete physically and mentally demanding tasks including fear simulations that test them to the max. But her new life is so much harder because Tris has a deep dark secret that she must keep hidden. This secret can either save, or destroy her friends, family and herself.
This book contains a whole lotta adventure and some romance that makes your heart melt. An exceptional read.
